Job summary

N-able is hiring a Staff Rust Engineer to lead the development of a brand-new Rust-based agent spanning Windows, Linux, and macOS. You will own technical direction and help shape product architecture from day one.

You will mentor engineers, promote modern Rust practices, and collaborate with product, security, and infrastructure teams to solve meaningful customer challenges.

Qualifications

• Strong Rust experience with system-level software.
• Experience across Windows, Linux, macOS.
• Ability to lead through influence and guide decisions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing and automation.
• Experience integrating Rust with C/C++ codebases is a plus.

As the Staff Rust Engineer, you’ll be the person others look to for technical direction, practical guidance, and smart engineering choices. You’ll have the space to lead, mentor, influence Rust adoption, and make a visible impact on a product used by customers globally.

What You'll Do

• Help shape a brand-new Rust-based agent with real technical ownership from the start.
• Design cross-platform capabilities that integrate deeply with Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Bring Rust expertise into an experienced C++ environment and help the team build confidence with modern Rust practices.
• Set high engineering standards across architecture, testing, automation, performance, and CI/CD.
• Make key technical decisions that influence scalability, reliability, security, and long‑term maintainability.
• Mentor talented engineers, share knowledge openly, and help create a strong Rust engineering culture.
• Work closely with product, security, and infrastructure teams to solve meaningful customer challenges.

What You'll Bring

• Strong Rust experience and a genuine interest in building reliable, high‑quality system‑level software.
• Confidence working across operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• A solid understanding of OS concepts, networking, file systems, and process‑level behavior.
• Experience integrating Rust with C or C++ codebases, or a strong interest in cross‑language engineering.
• The ability to lead through influence, guide technical decisions, and bring others on the journey.
• Comfort with modern engineering practices, including testing, automation, CI pipelines, and build systems such as Cargo and CMake.
• A collaborative, curious mindset — you enjoy sharing knowledge, learning from others, and raising the bar together.
• Experience helping teams adopt Rust would be great, but what matters most is your ability to lead with clarity and build trust.

This position has a base monthly salary starting from 25,025.00 PLN gross. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is also eligible for a bonus.
