vCluster Labs, a venture-backed startup, seeks a Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to shape the future of Kubernetes multi-tenancy. You will help architect the vCluster Platform and work with Kubernetes internals to build tools used by world-class engineering teams.

The role emphasizes Go development, end-to-end ownership, and open-source collaboration, including contributions to Kubernetes-related projects.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Kubernetes internals and architectural patterns.
• Strong Go programming skills with an eye for clean, efficient code.
• Active GitHub projects, experiments, or open-source contributions.
• High agency and ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments.
• Experience in a high-growth startup or similar fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Work intimately with Kubernetes internals to push container orchestration.
• Write high-performance Go code powering the vCluster platform core logic.
• Own feature development from design to release with minimal oversight.
• Contribute to open-source projects and help shape tenancy models.
• Tackle hard engineering problems requiring deep systems understanding.
