The Polish branch, as the Global Delivery Center, operates in Katowice since 2007 and has been growing ever since. Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists.

Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join Sopra Steria Polska for a team that cooperates with one of our Norwegian clients.

Responsibilities
  • Design and plan SQL Server deployments for scalability and reliability
  • Deploy and design native SQL solutions for cloud environments
  • Maintain and update SQL Server instances, including feature updates and security patches
  • Plan and execute upgrade and migration strategies with minimal downtime
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application operations, networking, virtualization, and security, to deliver integrated solutions
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in SQL Server environments
  • Assist customers with performance optimization and tuning
  • Provide technical support to customers and end-users on database-related issues

Qualifications

Must have requirements:

  • Expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining SQL Server environments for scalability, reliability, and security
  • Experience in implementing native SQL solutions for cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructures, including Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments
  • Proficiency in planning and executing upgrade and migration strategies with minimal downtime, ensuring seamless transitions for mission‑critical systems
  • Experience with automation tools and processes
  • Adept at troubleshooting complex SQL Server issues, optimizing performance, and tuning queries to meet business requirements
  • MySQL Database Administrator experience
  • Microsoft AZ‑104: Azure Administrator
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent

  • GCP: Associate Data Practitioner
  • AWS Database Specialty
  • GitHub / GitLab Foundations
