Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

Join AMD’s Validation Automation team and help deliver cutting‑edge graphics technologies, such as upscaling, frame generation, and ML‑driven rendering, to millions of gamers worldwide.

In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of graphics, machine learning, and real‑world product integration. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to validate and optimize features like FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) across diverse engines, platforms, and GPU architectures.

THE PERSON:

If you enjoy gaming, experimenting with hardware, and understanding how modern rendering pipelines work, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact on technologies used by leading game developers and end users.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Contribute to a high‑performing validation automation team delivering reliable and scalable solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated validation frameworks and integration tests
  • Perform both automated and exploratory testing in Windows and Linux environments
  • Build and optimize CI/CD workflows to ensure:
    • visual quality
    • performance
    • stability
    • non‑regression across models, platforms, GPUs, drivers, and OS versions
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with feature teams, developers, and project managers
  • Report and track defects using standard tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Participate in code reviews and Agile/Scrum ceremonies
  • Continuously improve validation methodologies and tooling
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong Python programming and test automation development experience
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles and frameworks
  • Good understanding of real‑time rendering pipelines and graphics fundamentals
  • Experience evaluating visual quality and identifying rendering artifacts (e.g., ghosting, flickering, blurring)
  • Knowledge of image quality metrics (e.g., SSIM, PSNR) or perceptual validation techniques
  • Experience with performance testing and benchmarking (FPS, frame time analysis)
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD systems supporting automated test workflows
  • Ability to design validation strategies across multiple hardware, driver, and OS configurations
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills in complex software/hardware environments
  • Familiarity with GPU debugging/profiling tools (e.g., RenderDoc, PIX, RGP)
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and version control (Git)
  • Experience working in Windows and/ or Linux environments
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Background in graphics programming or game development
  • Basic understanding of how graphics features integrate with engines (e.g., Unreal Engine / Unity pipelines)
  • Experience with DirectX 12 or Vulkan
  • Familiarity with shader concepts (HLSL/GLSL basics)
  • Awareness of temporal upscaling techniques (not just FSR conceptually)
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
