Job description

The Engineering Manager oversees a large, multidisciplinary team of software engineers, firmware engineers, and QA testers responsible for the development and maintenance of the MB intrusion and access control platform applications and firmware. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this role requires a dynamic leader with a strong technical background and proven people management skills. The Engineering Manager will provide technical direction, foster team growth, and ensure successful project delivery in a collaborative, international environment.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse engineering team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight for software and firmware development, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions for the MB Secure platform and MB panel.
  • Project Oversight: Plan, prioritize, and manage Engineering tasks and resources to deliver projects on time and within scope, addressing risks and resolving issues proactively.
  • People Management: Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and manage talent to build a high-performing team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, hardware engineering, and other stakeholders across the US, Germany, China, and India to achieve project objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Champion best practices in software development, testing, and release management to optimize team productivity and product quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software or firmware development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle, firmware integration, and QA processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with security platforms, embedded systems, or the MB Secure platform ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Based in the local office with flexible hybrid options as applicable.
  • Minor travel may be required to support cross-site collaboration and project needs.
  • Regular interaction with international teams in the US, Germany, China, and India.
