Job summary

Thrive IT Systems in Kraków seeks an experienced backend engineer to design, build and maintain internal tooling and services. You will work across Node.js/Java, APIs, and PostgreSQL while shaping AI agent orchestration for engineering tasks.

You will collaborate with global teams to ensure security, resilience, and performance, contributing toDevOps practices and tooling improvements. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering expertise using Node.js and/or Java.
• Experience designing and developing enterprise backend services and APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Knowledge of Agentic AI and Autonomous AI Agent orchestration.
• Experience implementing MCP Model Context Protocol.
• Experience with Tool Calling and Function Calling integration patterns.
• Strong API Design and Integration experience.
• Solution Design and Architecture for enterprise platforms and tooling.
• Understanding Production Engineering practices including Security, Resilience, Performance, Observability.
• Automated Testing and internal tooling experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work with global teams.
• Experience with Automation DevOps and Operational Support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal tooling supporting Future State Architecture initiatives.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js and/or Java.
• Integrate applications with PostgreSQL and other enterprise data sources.
• Design and enhance web-based user interfaces for architects and engineering teams.
• Build and manage agentic AI workflows using autonomous AI agents.
• Orchestrate AI agents to automate software build, testing, deployment, and engineering tasks.
• Implement MCP, Tool Calling, and Function Calling patterns.
• Collaborate with architects, platform engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, performance, testing, observability, and supportability standards.
• Contribute to code reviews, automation, DevOps practices, and operational support.
• Continuously improve internal tooling, engineering processes, and platform capabilities.
