Job summary

Infobip in Katowice is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to help deliver scalable, highly available backend services for OTT messaging. You will own features end to end, collaborate with Product and other engineering teams, and contribute to production reliability and observability.

Strong Java (or Kotlin) and Spring Boot experience is required, with Maven, Git, and automated tests. An AI-first mindset supports daily work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building backend services (or equivalent depth)
• Strong Java (or Kotlin) and Spring Boot; comfortable with Maven, Git, and automated tests
• Shipped and operated something in production: logs, metrics, incidents
• Able to take a vaguely specified problem, design a solution, and deliver with quality
• Writes clear, testable code and seeks feedback from teammates
• Excellent English communication with engineers and product teams

Responsibilities

• Own features end to end: design, implementation, tests, rollout, and production follow-up

• Work with partner APIs and webhooks, including upgrades and tight deadlines
• Participate in production support: investigate incidents and ship fixes

• Review code, write tests, mentor juniors as you grow
• Use AI as part of daily workflow (code, tests, docs, investigation)
• Collaborate with Product and other Infobip engineering teams

What this role is all about

Being part of Infobip Engineering means working on an in-house product used worldwide. As a
Software Engineer you will help deliver scalable, highly available messaging services that
companies use to reach customers on OTT channels such as WhatsApp, Viber, Apple Messages
for Business, Zalo, Kakao, LINE, Messenger, Instagram, TikTok, and others.
You will join OTT Channels engineering in Katowice. We connect enterprises to these platforms:
onboarding, sending and receiving messages, templates, payments, and billing — and we keep
that working when partners change APIs, pricing, or rules on short notice.
This is a mid-level role. You already deliver complex work without being walked through every
step, you care about production, and you can propose a design — not only implement a ticket.
You will start in one product area (for example traffic, onboarding, templates, or billing) and grow
into neighbouring ones. You will not be expected to know every channel on day one.

What you’ll do

• You will own features end to end: design, implementation, tests, rollout, and production follow-up — not only “the coding part”
• You will build and maintain Java / Spring Boot backend services for OTT messaging
• You will work with partner APIs and webhooks, including version upgrades and programmes with tight deadlines
• You will take part in production support: investigate incidents, separate supplier issues from our bugs, and ship fixes
• You will improve reliability, observability, and quality of the systems you touch
• You will review code, write tests, and keep a high definition of done. You mentor more junior colleagues as you grow into the role
• You will use AI as part of the daily workflow (code, tests, docs, investigation)
• You will work closely with Product and other engineering teams across Infobip

What makes you a strong fit

• You are a Mid Engineer looking for a high-growth challenge, with 3+ years building backend services (or equivalent depth — we care about independence more than years)
• You have strong Java (or Kotlin) and Spring Boot; you are comfortable with Maven, Git, and automated tests
• You have shipped and operated something in production: logs, metrics, incidents, not only green unit tests
• You can take a vaguely specified problem, break it down, propose a design, and deliver it with stable quality
• You write code others can review: clear, tested, no cleverness for its own sake
• You communicate in English with engineers and product; you ask for feedback and give it
• Curiosity about integrating with third‑party platforms beats prior experience with a specific channel

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Kafka, REST APIs, OpenAPI
• Relational and/or document databases; Redis, CI/CD, Docker, high-availability systems
• Messaging, CPaaS, or payments experience
• Polish is useful in the Katowice office, not required
