Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in Kraków is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to own test automation development, plan and execute automated tests, and ensure production-ready quality.

You will work with Selenium, Java, Spring Boot, and REST, collaborating with developers and operators across the life cycle, and you'll be fluent in English.

Qualifications

The Opportunity:

The Software Development Engineer in Test is responsible and performs all aspects of work involved in:

• Test Automation Framework development and maintenance
• Development, planning and execution of automated test cases

The Software Development Engineer in Test adheres to standards for software development, testing and the subsequent release into production and ensures that all related documentation is completed fully. This responsibility requires that the Software Development Engineer in Test has extensive liaison and communication with the operators and developers of System Under Test throughout the development life cycle.

SDET maintains highest quality of developed tools and created tests by applying and maintaining extensive testing skills, domain knowledge and software development standards and good practices.

What you'll do:

• Apply specialist expertise to undertake the day to day responsibilities of the test automation development process, organize and participate in the review and analysis of appropriate documentation.
• Determine automation needs and to ensure smooth project implementations.
• Develop strong planning and resource forecasting techniques.
• Develop software solutions aimed at automating testing and test-related activities.
• Undertake test execution, record and analyze test results, investigate and progress error procedures for any faults found and make recommendations on the final quality of the product and its suitability for promotion to the live environment.
• Report progress and escape problems to the Testing Team Leader/Manager ensuring adherence to development timescales.
• Develop and maintain good communications and relationships, both internal and external to the Bank as a representative of the testing team.
• Participate in meetings concerning project activities.
• Automate test scripts in cooperation with business, development and environment support teams.

What you'll need to succed in the role:

• Working knowledge of testing software like Selenium, JIRA, Confluence.
• Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Type Script, SQL, Selenium, REST, HTML, XML.
• Working knowledge of software development platforms like GitHub, IntelliJ.
• Experience in automated testing of IT Systems and automation framework development.
• Ability to develop and maintain object-oriented application code.
• Ability to execute Test Plan, UAT and Bug Tracking reports.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

The pay range for this role is 17 484 PLN - 25 000 PLN (monthly, gross).
