Job summary

HSBC Service Delivery in Kraków seeks a Senior Test Engineer to build and lead an Avaloq-based test automation suite for the GPB Core Banking Platform. You will optimise automation levels, select tools, and ensure regulatory and group controls are met while maintaining platform stability.

You will manage a team, engage senior stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement across testing lifecycles in a Private Banking context. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong testing background, including test automation using TestMaster.
• Solid understanding of the Private Banking domain.
• Experience working on the Avaloq platform.
• Strong technical capability in Avaloq scripting and DDIC.
• Knowledge of Avaloq reporting/interfaces.
• Proven debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to design IT solutions with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Accountability for unit and integration test coverage with stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills engaging senior stakeholders across systems and functions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to document solutions with structured analysis techniques.
• Experience across multiple functional domains.

What you’ll do

Build test automation capability for the GPB Core Banking Platform (Avaloq). Lead the design and development of an Avaloq Test Suite with high automation coverage, continually optimising and extending it. Keep automation levels consistently optimised to minimise manual intervention across testing and operational lifecycles, including selecting tools to maximise performance. Ensure products and services meet all mandatory and regulatory compliance requirements. Be responsible for ensuring group controls are maintained within the pod activities and remediation activities are resolved swiftly. Be accountable for the platform’s operational stability, integrity, and availability. Functionally manage the team to ensure the automation suite is delivered and operated in line with customer needs.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

Strong testing background, including test automation using TestMaster. Solid understanding of the Private Banking domain. Experience working on the Avaloq platform. Strong technical capability in Avaloq scripting and DDIC. Knowledge of Avaloq reporting/interfaces. Proven debugging and problem-solving skills. Ability to design and develop the most appropriate IT solutions in line with agreed solution designs and customer needs, with a continuous improvement mindset. Accountability for ensuring appropriate unit and integration test coverage, partnering effectively with Test Engineers. Strong leadership skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders across systems and functions. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written and verbal). Ability to define and document solutions and changes, producing comprehensive documentation supported by structured analysis techniques and methodologies. Experience working across one or more functional domains and adapting quickly to new business areas.

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 17 500 PLN - 22 000 PLN (monthly, gross). Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
