Job summary

Nordea Bank Norge ASA in Poland is seeking an experienced data engineer to design and build Snowflake transformation jobs using SQL, Snowpark, and Airflow. You will translate business requirements into scalable data pipelines and participate in CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Eight plus years of data engineering experience, with hands-on Snowflake production work.
• Strong SQL skills including window functions, QUALIFY, MERGE, recursive CTEs, and semi-structured data handling.
• Snowpark (Python/Scala) experience for building transformation logic.
• Understanding of Snowflake execution models: micro-partitions, clustering, and query planning.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala for pipelines.
• Airflow experience for DAGs, sensors, and retries.
• Git, Bitbucket, and CI/CD ownership in deployments.
• Experience in financial services or banking data domains is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and build transformation jobs in Snowflake using SQL stored procedures, Snowpark, and Dynamic Tables.
• Translate business and analytical requirements into clean, maintainable transformation logic.
• Contribute to data modeling decisions and schema design.
• Apply Snowflake best practices for performance and cost efficiency.
• Own CI/CD for deliverables and manage deployments across environments.
• Write and maintain Airflow DAGs to orchestrate Snowflake workloads.
• Contribute to data exchange layers and access control models.
• Review code and collaborate to raise team standards.
