Job summary

A leading financial services provider in Katowice is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer focused on improving system reliability and performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with containerization tools and Linux/Unix systems, along with strong scripting skills in PowerShell. The expected salary for this position: 13 000 - 25 000 PLN

The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.

We are looking for you if:
  • You understand and apply Site Reliability Engineering principles: automation-first, reducing toil, and reliability as a feature.
  • You have experience in designing and operating highly available, scalable systems.
  • You have hands‑on experience with containerization (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and observability tools.
  • You bring deep expertise in Linux/Unix, Tomcat, networking, and RDBMS (Oracle/MSSQL).
  • You have strong proficiency in Windows systems administration, especially with ASP.NET/.NET Core apps on IIS.
  • You can define and work with SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to improve system reliability.
  • You have strong skills in monitoring, observability, and incident management.
  • You can script or code in PowerShell and bring a familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar).
  • You collaborate effectively and promote a culture of reliability across teams.
You'll get extra points for
  • Experience with Agile platforms and rapid scaling.
  • Familiarity with ELK stack, Prometheus + Grafana, and enterprise scheduling tools (TWSd, UAC).
  • Scripting in Python, automation with Ansible, and infrastructure as code (Terraform/Pulumi).
  • Applying DevOps/SRE practices to front‑office banking processes.
  • Demonstrating Agile Ways of Working and staying ahead of tech trends.
  • Ability to lead blameless postmortems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
Your responsibilities
  • Monitor & troubleshoot production systems, proactively resolving issues and improving reliability.
  • Lead and mentor a growing team across multiple locations.
  • Drive observability, incident/problem management, and root cause analysis.
  • Plan capacity and assess system health to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage SLAs, holding teams accountable for service quality.
  • Ensure IT control compliance, supporting audits with evidence.
  • Automate operations using bots and runners to streamline infrastructure tasks.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Generate production reports on availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Occasionally respond to business service requests, such as backup restores.
  • Advocate for SRE best practices and contribute to a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.
