EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Server-Side Java Developer with AWS to join a new Full-Stack team in the Global Investments Financial Systems division, working on Cloud Native architectures and a continuous delivery pipeline. The projects span Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Data and Workflow Management, Regulatory Reporting, ETF systems, and Investment Strategy and Research.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business product owners, building RESTful services and GraphQL

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience with TDD.
• Proficiency in Java (8+), Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
• RESTful API implementation, GraphQL, open-source frameworks.
• Cloud technologies with AWS, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build, deploy, test, log and monitor using Maven, Cucumber, Bamboo.
• Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket and Splunk.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher.

Job description

We are looking for a Server-Side Java Developer with AWS to join a new Full-Stack team embracing new ways of working (NWoW) within the Global Investments Financial Systems division. This is an exciting opportunity to influence team direction while working on leading technologies using Cloud Native architecture, agile methodologies, and a continuous delivery pipeline. The projects will involve applications related to Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Data and Workflow Management, Regulatory Reporting, ETF systems, and Investment Strategy and Research.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a business-facing IT team to deliver new solutions to the business
• Understand and review functional specifications and translate them into program specifications
• Liaise with end users for user acceptance testing and provide 3rd line support as required
• Build thought leadership and expertise around best-practice solution design and implementation
• Comply with defined code and documentation standards, including peer reviews
• Collaborate daily with the Business Product Owner and Business Users in the Products team
• Implement Java services and RESTful APIs utilizing micro-services architecture patterns for enterprise scale
• Effectively manage time across multiple projects with competing business demands and priorities
• Contribute to testing and documentation efforts throughout the development lifecycle

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development with a strong background in Test-Driven Development
• Proficiency in Java (8 or higher), Spring Boot, and Spring MVC
• Expertise in RESTful API implementation, GraphQL, and open-source frameworks
• Experience in software development using cloud technologies, with proficiency in AWS, AWS CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of build, deployment, testing, logging, and monitoring tools such as Maven, Cucumber, and Bamboo
• Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket and Splunk
• Understanding of the investment management domain with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Capability to work well with both business managers and operations teams, performing effectively under pressure and delivering to tight deadlines
• Knowledge of agile software development processes and practices
• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Python programming and Hibernate
• Familiarity with AWS IAM, AWS Lambda, and Amazon DynamoDB
• Background in Amazon ElastiCache, Spring Cloud Contract, and Spring Security
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Atlassian Jira
• Understanding of Microservice Architecture Style and exposure to Investment Banks
