Job summary

EPAM Systems in Kraków seeks a Lead Java Backend Developer to design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade platforms with a focus on distributed systems and real-time data processing. You will build microservices and data streaming solutions, apply CQRS and Event Sourcing, and enforce security and SDLC best practices across backend systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role offers a hybrid work model with three days onsite and occasional international collaboration

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Expertise in ORM frameworks such as JPA and iBatis
• Knowledge of security protocols including Azure AD and OAuth
• Proficiency in Kafka, CosmosDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis
• Familiarity with REST, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Skills in build tools such as Maven and Gradle
• Background in microservices and data streaming architectures
• Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and modern software development practices, including SDLC
• Showcase of AI-assisted software development capabilities
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate business requirements into global solutions and collaborate with other technology teams
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
