Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced virtualization architect to lead VMware-based projects across on-prem and cloud migrations. You will shape design, deliver end-to-end solutions, and mentor engineering teams in a hybrid environment.

The role emphasizes VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX expertise, as well as migration tooling such as HCX and SRM, with opportunities to work with Nutanix and OpenShift and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of VMware virtualization in enterprise environments.
• Strong VMware vSphere architecture and design experience.
• Experience leading complex infrastructure or migration projects.
• Hands-on with VMware vSAN and software-defined infrastructure.
• Familiarity with VMware NSX and network virtualization concepts

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design and end‑to‑end delivery of VMware-based solutions
• Define technical standards, documentation, and best practices for virtualization platforms
• Design and optimize VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS)
• Design software-defined storage solutions using VMware vSAN
• Architect DC‑to‑DC migrations (e.g. HCX, SRM), including migration strategy and waves
• Design DC‑to‑cloud solutions leveraging AWS/Azure and migration tooling
• Provide strategic recommendations on platform evolution (e.g. Nutanix, OpenShift, hybrid models)
• Support and mentor engineering teams, providing technical leadership and guidance
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (network, storage, cloud, security)
• Drive automation and use AI‑enabled tools to improve delivery efficiency and decision‑making
