Job summary

Akamai's Security Technology Group (STG) is seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead end-to-end design from concept to launch. You will transform complex enterprise problems into intuitive interfaces and own the interaction design across the product, including typography, layout, states, motion, and micro-interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise software for business users, admins, and complex workflows.
• Strong visual design skills with a portfolio showing typography, layout, color, and UI trends.
• Maintain design systems and component libraries in Figma, including variants, tokens, and documentation.
• Expertise in interaction design: states, feedback, transitions, edge cases, loading/empty states.
• High attention to detail and ability to align terminology and product across technical domains.

Responsibilities

• Represent users and ensure their needs guide design decisions as a strategic partner.
• Simplify complex systems to improve clarity and navigation.
• Design intuitive interfaces covering typography, layout, structure, states, motion, and micro-interactions.
• Own interaction models and ensure smooth responses, transitions, and error handling under load and scale.
• Evolve the design system by auditing components, defining patterns, and collaborating with engineers.
• Encourage cross-team design system adoption by addressing conflicts and identifying shared components.
• Contribute to the team’s understanding of design principles and best practices through collaboration.
