Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking a System Test Engineer to join our Digital Platform system team. The role focuses on system-level testing with a mix of manual and automation work, contributing to alpha testing and process improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Eng or IT, 5+ years as a Software Tester, ISTQB Advanced, strong debugging skills, and expertise in Python, Selenium, Linux, and CI/CD practices. Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Git and Polarion is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology.
• You will do mostly manual testing, but you understand test automation and will be ready to take automation tasks as well.
• You have between 5+ years of experience as a Software Tester in a complex software development organization; senior level.
• ISTQB certified (advanced level).
• Strong debugging and analytic skills; experienced in defect analysis and bug fixing.
• Very good knowledge and experience in Python, Selenium and Linux.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, integration of test processes across products, test automation and security testing.
• Experience working with Jira, Bitbucket, Git, Polarion.

Responsibilities

• Execute basic regression tests on the software baseline and perform quality checks on project deliverables.
• Review project input documents (test reports, process conformance) and provide quality verdicts (accept/reject).
• Execute alpha tests of new software packages and report issues with test reports and tickets.
• Suggest process/tooling improvements and ensure test systems are in good state.

Job description

Software system level testing is a very important step in the development process of our products and ensures that the system meets specifications.

The System Test Engineer is a key participant in the system level test process and provides important input to the product release decision making process.

Responsibilities:

The Digital Platform system team consists of 9 people and follows an Agile/Kanban way of working.

You will do mostly manual testing, but automation will still be part of your activities.

Software baseline validation

• Execute the basic regression test on the software baseline
• Quality check of the project deliverables
• Contribute to requirement reviews with respect to testability
• Review project input documents (project test report, process conformance)
• Provide a quality verdict of the delivered software; accept/reject deliverables

Execute the alpha test of new software packages

• Execute alpha tests
• Report issues
• Write test reports, submit issue tickets

Process improvement

• Suggest process/tooling improvements where necessary
• Make sure the test systems are in a good state and solve issues where needed

Mandatory Skills Description:

• You have between +5 years of experience as a Software Tester in a complex software development organization. For this role we are only looking to hire a senior experienced Tester;
• You are ISTQB certified (advanced level);
• You like to perform manual and automatic testing;
• You have strong debugging and analytic skills; you are experienced in defect analysis and bug fixing.
• You have a very good knowledge an experience in Python, Selenium and Linux
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, integration of test processes across products, test automation and security testing,
• Experience working with Jira, BitBucket, Git, Polarion.
