Job summary

Monterail is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer in Wroclaw, Poland. You will join a client project in luxury travel and hospitality, building and maintaining internal tools that power matching, sales, and operations behind a leading brand.

You'll design end-to-end test automation using Playwright and TypeScript, collaborate with developers, and lead QA practices within an Agile team. The role is based in Wroclaw with a B2B contract and hourly rates.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in test automation.
• Strong proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript.
• Understanding of functional, regression, UAT, system integration, and exploratory testing.
• Experience designing and building test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Familiarity with AI coding agents or willingness to adapt quickly.
• Knowledge of Git and version control in a team.
• Solid understanding of DOM and reliable locator strategies.
• Experience with defect tracking tools (Jira) and test management tools (TestRail).
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both tech and non-tech audiences.
• Experience in usability and accessibility testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• English proficiency.
• Friendly, supportive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Write and execute automated test scripts covering functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
• Establish and document QA practices, procedures, and standards scaled to the organisation.
• Collaborate with developers to investigate, analyse, and resolve defects and drive automation testing best practices.
• Contribute to story planning and acceptance criteria within Scrum ceremonies.
• Track, analyse, and report on software quality metrics across sprints and releases.
• Act as a key escalation point for software quality issues and drive resolution.
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance software quality and user experience.
• Keep current with industry trends and automation tooling and share learnings with the team.
