Job summary

HeadHR is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to own test automation strategy and implementation. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright to ensure high coverage for API and UI tests.

Work closely with developers to read application code, participate in planning, and drive reliability through CI/CD integration (Jenkins). Fluent English is required; this is an on-site role based in Gdynia, Poland.

Qualifications

• Experience in test automation using Playwright.
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience in API testing.
• Ability to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality automation code.
• Understanding of full testing lifecycle: planning, execution and reporting.
• Experience with databases, including querying and data validation.
• Ability to read and understand application code.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins integration.
• Strong ownership of automation testing strategy and coverage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive automation initiatives.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of test automation strategy and implementation for team deliveries.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright.
• Ensure high test coverage and quality of automated tests across applications.
• Plan and execute automated testing activities, including: test design, execution, reporting.
• Develop and maintain API and UI test automation scripts.
• Work with JavaScript / TypeScript to build scalable and maintainable test code.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins).
• Monitor and improve test automation performance and stability.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met.
• Analyze test results and identify defects and improvement areas.
• Drive improvements in automation coverage with the goal of achieving target quality levels.
• Continuously enhance processes and tools to improve test efficiency and reliability.
