VARD Marine Gdańsk is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Poland-based team. You will lead structural design tasks for complex vessels, perform FEM analyses, and coordinate with classifications societies to gain approvals.

The ideal candidate has a MSc/BSc in a related field, 8–10 years of post-graduation experience in ship structures, and hands-on work with IACS rules and FE tools (ANSYS/FEMAP/Genie). Fluent English and Polish residency are required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform structural calculations from scantling checks to FEM analyses.
• Prepare structural drawings for approval by Classification Societies and Authorities, resolving comments.
• Coordinate structural work across engineering departments to ensure optimal vessel design.
• Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders including Client, Classification Societies, regulatory authorities, other design offices and vendors.
• Possibly assume the role of Project Manager on larger projects.

• Performing structural calculations ranging from scantling checks and simple beam validations to comprehensive local and global FEM analyses.
• Preparing structural drawings for approval by Classification Societies and Authorities, including managing and resolving comments.

• In addition to performing discrete technical tasks within larger projects, you may perform the role of Project Manager.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc degree in a related engineering field (Ocean Engineering, Shipbuilding, Ship Design, Naval Architecture, etc.).
• At least 8 -10 years of post-graduation experience in structural engineering in ship design.
• Experience with IACS Classification Society (DNV, ABS, BV, LR) rules and dedicated class-related software.
• Hands-on experience with at least one FEA tool (ANSYS, FEMAP, or Genie).
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Permanent residence in Poland.
