Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a critical SRE team. You will analyze systems, troubleshoot, evaluate performance and capacity, and partner with engineering to implement improvements across Akamai's compute, CDN, and security platforms.

You will design automation, use IaC, and help ensure observability and SLA adherence. Strong Python/Bash skills, knowledge of internet protocols, and Linux/VM/Kubernetes experience are essential. Flexible working options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in system analysis and troubleshooting of large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other languages.
• Experience with internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP.
• Hands-on work in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environments.

Responsibilities

• Testing inefficiencies and fragilities; implement fixes in software or infrastructure; fluent in code and IaC.
• Designing and collaborating with Engineering or SRE teams to build automation or self-service tools.
• Analyze platform performance to identify capacity improvements and opportunities.
• Define and track platform KPIs to identify trends and optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot escalations and incidents with cross-functional teams to support customers.
• Gather customer requirements and influence deployment and operation strategies.
