Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to help enable next-generation server hardware and Linux platforms for a global cloud platform. You will shape compute-platform strategy, lead provisioning and CI/CD improvements, and drive reliability and observability across datacenters.

You will mentor engineers, review designs, and resolve multi-domain issues with vendors, while working on cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness and fast incident response.

Qualifications

• Linux and server-platform expertise covering boot, storage, networking, firmware, and BMCs.
• Provisioning and automation experience with bare-metal provisioning and configuration management.
• Software/CI-CD engineering skills in Python and Bash; building automation and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Shaping compute-platform strategy across firmware, OS, and hardware.
• Leading bare-metal provisioning, imaging, and delivery pipelines.
• Improving reliability, telemetry, and safe rollout practices.
• Mentoring engineers and setting cross-team standards.
