Qualifications

• Storage Management & Performance Tuning: optimizing disk space, indexes, and T-SQL queries.
• Data Security: access control, encryption with TDE and Always Encrypted.
• Backup and high availability/DR: Always On, FCI, Log Shipping.
• Must have: Azure managed services (SQL SSIS).
• Nice to have: Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Managing database storage (mdf/ldf/tempdb), performance tuning (indexes, execution plans, T-SQL), and SQL Server features (Columnstore, In-Memory OLTP).
• Ensuring data security and access control via logins, users, and roles at schema level, and data encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted).
• Handling backup/recovery strategies (Full, Differential, Transaction Log), patching, DB integrity checks, and HA/DR (Always On, FCI).
