Job summary

Nebul is building Europe’s sovereign AI cloud. We seek an Apache Spark Specialist to architect, deploy, and manage a flagship Spark proposition with GPU acceleration and security at the core.

You will partner with product and engineering to shape a managed Spark offering, drive performance, and translate customer needs into scalable data architectures. This role is based in the Netherlands with a hybrid work model near Leiden and The Hague.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of production Spark experience.
• Deep knowledge of Spark internals: tuning, partitioning, caching, shuffle management.
• Hands-on deployment with Kubernetes and cloud/on-prem clusters.
• Experience with Databricks, EMR, Hadoop or Lakehouse architectures.
• Scripting in Python or Scala.
• Ability to translate client needs into technical architectures and operational models.
• Familiar with cloud security and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate scalable Spark environments on Nebul’s sovereign AI cloud.
• Design and optimize Spark workloads for GPU-accelerated and distributed performance.
• Define and implement security, monitoring, governance, and data protection.
