Job summary

VAES, part of the e.construct ecosystem, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build automation tools for Engineering Design. The role collaborates with Computational Structural Engineers and integrates with ETABS, Revit and OpenSees-like libraries. Strong Python and C# skills and a background in scientific computing are required.

The team works across borders on innovative sustainability-focused projects, using ML and optimization to reduce material usage in buildings and bridges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5-12 years of software development experience.
• Experience with scalable software development.
• Proven experience leading teams and developing software.
• Strong proficiency with Python and software design practices.
• Experience with C#.
• Experience with scientific computation libraries (numpy, scikit-spatial, shapely, openseespy, etc.).
• Experience with desktop GUI frameworks such as PySide6 or Tkinter.
• Experience with MVVM design pattern.
• Soft skills: ownership, problem-solving, communication, mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to develop and maintain software for structural optimization.
• Manage the development process from initial idea to final release.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and test software components.
• Design and implement scalable software solutions.
• Mentor and lead a team of junior Software Engineers
