Job summary

Google is hiring an Embedded System Kernel Tech Lead to join the Pixel team in Poland. You will architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the Android embedded software stack for future devices, from SoC bringup to platform level.

You will work on low-level hardware interactions, device driver integration, and collaboration across teams. Strong English communication and leadership skills are expected, with preferred locations in Warsaw or Kraków, Poland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C++ and C.
• 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
• 2 years of experience working with the Linux kernel and Android systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain the whole system software stack for Pixel devices.
• Build Google SoC and the in-market devices system software kernel sustaining.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve the software quality.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• BSP team lead or project lead.
• 7 years of Android system software development or management experience.

• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills in English.
