Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer III, Embedded, Pixel Graphics and Video in Warsaw to drive graphics and performance across the Pixel platform.

You will work on GPU software spanning from SoC conception to field deployment, collaborating with multiple Google teams to push graphics capabilities and power efficiency across devices. Strong ground in embedded graphics APIs is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop GPU graphics and compute technologies spanning the full GPU software stack.
  • Evaluate and bring-up devices, defining the role and requirements of the GPU in future product designs.
  • Debug sophisticated user mode and kernel mode problems.
  • Advise Android and Pixel leadership on performance and feature opportunities in graphics software, and scope solutions with partner teams inside and outside Google.
  • Seek general solutions to problems, minimizing device-specific workarounds for Pixel devices.

  • Knowledge of the open graphics library for embedded systems (OpenGL ES), Vulkan, or open computing language (OpenCL APIs).

Pixel Graphics System Software enables everything from simple low-power animations to rich user interface (UI), high-end games, and on-device image processing to make the best use of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) in Pixel phones.
Our team works in Pixel devices from SoC conception all the way to field deployment and beyond. We work closely with multiple teams at Google, including Android, Pixel Camera, Display, Video and Power. We regularly engage with partners and vendors to explore and implement innovative and more performant ideas to use the GPU as part of a tightly-integrated device package.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
