Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen our Data Engineering Team. You will join a multinational group building high-performance streaming platforms, core services, and DevOps tooling for reliable data delivery.

You will work on scalable data pipelines, observability improvements, and automation to reduce manual tasks. This role offers a flexible working program and opportunities to impact global products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with SQL and software development using at least 2 of Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript.
• 5+ years with distributed systems, Linux networking, TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, and HTTP protocols.
• 3+ years in DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
• 3+ years with Observability and Security tools (Prometheus, DataDog).
• Experience with Hadoop and Spark; design principles.
• Scripting in bash; SQL and REST API design; ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implementation of highly available, scalable streaming solutions.
• Build, integrate, support and improve data streaming services on Akamai Platform.
• Design and develop DevOps tools to ensure seamless software delivery.
• Develop processes to monitor, analyze, maintain and improve streaming data pipelines and observability.
• Develop and implement automated procedures to minimize human intervention.
