Job summary

Aviva plc in Warsaw is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build high-performance microservices and secure APIs that access enterprise data. You will work in a cloud-native environment with Spring Boot and Python, containerised services, and real-time system integration.

You will design RESTful APIs, implement event-driven patterns with Kafka, and deploy on AWS ECS, supporting CI/CD and observability.

Qualifications

• Senior level: 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and Kafka.
• Experience with AWS services including ECS, S3, Aurora/PostgreSQL and API integration services.
• Understanding of containerisation technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of API security and authentication patterns.
• Experience with API design standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices and integration services.
• Build containerised applications using Spring Boot and Python.
• Develop secure, scalable API solutions for ODS access and integration.
• Create event-driven services and integrations using Kafka/MSK.
• Collaborate with Architects, Data Engineers and Product Teams on technical design and Agile delivery.
