Job summary

Astek in Poland is seeking a Senior SMT Process & Manufacturing Engineer for an electronics manufacturing client. You will set up and launch SMT, THT, and manual assembly processes, lead NPI and pilot runs, and optimize process parameters to ensure quality and efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years hands-on SMT/THT experience, IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 know-how, and ability to train production teams while driving continuous improvement in high‑quality manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on experience with SMT and THT manufacturing.
Experience in at least two electronics manufacturing implementations, including at least one involving SMT technology.
Practical experience in launching, setting up, or relocating SMT production lines.
Strong knowledge of SMT processes, including solder paste printing, pick & place, reflow profiling, NPI, and process optimization.
Experience with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and ESD requirements.
Experience in production organization, process engineering, quality improvement, and troubleshooting.
Experience in high-quality manufacturing environments such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or defence.

Responsibilities

Setting up and launching SMT, THT, and manual assembly processes.
Leading NPI and pilot production runs; defining and optimizing SMT/THT process parameters.
Troubleshooting production and quality issues; implementing IPC, ESD, and quality standards.
Creating SOPs, work instructions, and production documentation.
Training production and quality teams.
Supporting continuous process improvement and defect reduction.
