Job summary

Amelco UK Ltd is seeking a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer to own reliability, observability, and cost efficiency of our high-throughput betting platform. You’ll work in production, partnering with developers to build resilient systems and drive incident response.

The role is split 60% infrastructure automation and 40% application reliability, requiring deep Java Spring Boot and Kubernetes exposure to implement lasting improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps with hands-on production experience.
• Strong Kubernetes operational expertise (AWS EKS, Flux, Helm).
• Proven track record building observability for Java Spring Boot apps using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• IaC with Terraform and GitOps workflows; Python and Bash for automation.
• Experience with high-throughput event processing and monitoring systems.
• Balancing cost efficiency with platform reliability; strong cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Reliability Engineering (40%): define and manage SLOs/SLIs; enhance observability; design chaos experiments.
• Infrastructure & Platform (40%): own Kubernetes reliability; automate with Python/Bash in GitHub Actions; optimize costs.
• Incident & Operations (20%): participate in major incidents; develop automated remediation and runbooks; build observability rules.
