Job summary

Quanata, LLC is seeking a Data Platform QA Engineer to join our remote-first team. You will design scalable automated testing for data pipelines and ML workflows, mentor junior QA engineers, and raise quality across the development lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Data Scientists and DevOps to validate data, models, and tests, ensuring reliable, scalable, and trustworthy outputs. This role offers strong growth and a flexible, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of software testing experience with at least 3 years in data platform or ML testing.
• Strong programming skills and experience building automated testing frameworks.
• Hands-on testing of complex data platforms, pipelines, and distributed data processing systems.
• Deep understanding of data validation, schema validation, and data quality.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to mentor quality engineers and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and ML models.
• Develop testing strategies addressing data quality, drift, model accuracy, bias, and regression.
• Validate large-scale distributed data systems for accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate across engineering, data science, and operations to embed quality.
• Conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and risks in new features.
• Mentor junior SDETs and contribute to testing standards and best practices.
