Job summary

Sur Global is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to design and build scalable testing systems, platforms, and tooling that replicate real-world production conditions at scale.

You will write production-quality code in TypeScript or Python, develop testing infrastructure, and integrate validation into CI/CD workflows, collaborating with platform engineers across AWS, Google Cloud, and other providers.

Qualifications

• Independent design, build, and maintenance of software systems.
• Strong coding in TypeScript or Python.
• Experience building automated testing systems and tooling.
• Hands-on load, performance, stress, and synthetic testing experience.
• Experience with cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated validation in pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable testing systems, platforms, and infrastructure that replicate real-world production conditions.
• Develop software and tooling to test performance, reliability, scalability, and infrastructure behavior at high traffic.
• Build and maintain load, performance, stress, and synthetic testing capabilities for large-scale apps.
• Create testing environments and processes to validate production-scale growth.
• Write high-quality code to build testing tools and automation.
• Design tests to identify performance bottlenecks in latency, bandwidth, and capacity.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and engineering workflows.
• Work with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare.
• Use Terraform, Pulumi, or similar IaC tools for repeatable environments.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to understand architecture and constraints.
• Analyze test results to identify scalability risks before real traffic.
