Job summary

Intellias is looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to join a long-term partnership with a Fortune 100 industrial manufacturer. You will design and build scalable backend services, event-driven systems, and data products running on AWS.

As part of a distributed engineering team, you will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and collaborate with global stakeholders in Agile environments.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Scala experience.
10+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience with Akka / Apache Pekko.
AWS expertise.
Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or similar event-streaming platforms.
Functional programming experience (Cats, Cats Effect, ZIO).
PostgreSQL and SQL.
Microservices and distributed systems.
CI/CD and Docker.
Strong architecture and design skills.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable backend services using Scala.
Develop event-driven systems and streaming solutions.
Build APIs and distributed system components.
Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
Troubleshoot complex production issues.
Drive software quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices.
Mentor engineers and support technical excellence across the team.
Collaborate with global stakeholders in Agile environments.
