Job summary

Monterail is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to work as a freelancer on a luxury travel and hospitality platform. You will develop back-office features in Rails, design secure PostgreSQL data models, and migrate legacy data from MS SQL Server, while integrating with CRM and payment gateways.

Knowledge of CI/CD, containerization, and React is expected. Joining Monterail means collaborating with a client-focused team to reconstruct domain logic from the old system and ensure data security

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Understanding of secure application design principles.
• Experience in CI/CD and containerized environments.
• Basic React familiarity and working knowledge of Vue.js ecosystem is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop back-office features in Rails for premium properties.
• Design and model PostgreSQL databases with a focus on security and normalisation.
• Migrate data and business logic from legacy MS SQL Server systems.
• Build integrations with external systems (CRM, payment gateway).
• Collaborate with PM/PO to reconstruct domain logic from the old system.
• Maintain code quality and security for sensitive customer and billing data.
