Job summary

Kingfisher seeks a Senior Quality Engineer (Java) to join a hybrid team in Kraków. You will develop robust automated test suites and work with developers, product managers and DevOps to ensure top software quality in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will design, execute manual tests where needed and drive testing excellence across the project lifecycle. The role demands strong Java test automation, REST API testing with RestAssured, and experience with CI/CD, GitLab, Docker, and Jira/Xray.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in QA teams and close cooperation with Product Owner.
• Extensive experience with Java for test automation (JUnit/TestNG).
• Expertise in writing integration tests for REST services using RestAssured.
• Knowledge of mocking tools such as WireMock.
• Experience with Kafka in test scenarios.
• Proven CI/CD experience (GitLab pipelines, Docker).
• Strong Git experience and Merge Request workflows.
• Knowledge of Jira and Xray for test management.
• Deep understanding of test automation strategies and scalable frameworks.
• Hands-on design/implementation of robust test frameworks.
• Strong Agile mindset and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts for CI/CD integration.
• Design and execute manual test cases where automation coverage is lacking.
• Conduct backend, API, integration, and regression testing to validate functionality and performance.
• Log, track, and prioritize defects with accurate documentation.
• Provide input on testing scope, complexity, and effort during planning.
• Manage testing lifecycle to ensure full coverage and quality standards.
• Present test results and insights in stakeholder sessions.
• Resolve testing challenges and continuously improve processes.
