Job summary

Kingfisher seeks a Senior Quality Engineer (Java) to join a hybrid team in Kraków. You will develop robust automated test suites and work with developers, product managers and DevOps to ensure top software quality in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will design, execute manual tests where needed and drive testing excellence across the project lifecycle. The role demands strong Java test automation, REST API testing with RestAssured, and experience with CI/CD, GitLab, Docker, and Jira/Xray.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in QA teams and close cooperation with Product Owner.
• Extensive experience with Java for test automation (JUnit/TestNG).
• Expertise in writing integration tests for REST services using RestAssured.
• Knowledge of mocking tools such as WireMock.
• Experience with Kafka in test scenarios.
• Proven CI/CD experience (GitLab pipelines, Docker).
• Strong Git experience and Merge Request workflows.
• Knowledge of Jira and Xray for test management.
• Deep understanding of test automation strategies and scalable frameworks.
• Hands-on design/implementation of robust test frameworks.
• Strong Agile mindset and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop,maintain, andoptimizeautomation test scripts, ensuring adherence to best practices and seamless integration into the CI/CD pipeline. Facilitate skill development in automation where necessary.

• Design and execute manual test cases for scenarios not covered by automation.

• Ability to conductback-end, API, integration, and regression tests tovalidatesystem functionality, performance, and stability.

• Log, track, and prioritize defects, ensuringtimelyfixes andaccuratedocumentation.

• Provide input on testing scope, complexity, and effort during estimation and planning sessions.

• Manage the entire testing lifecycle, ensuring full coverage andmaintainingquality standards within the Engineering Squad.

• Present test results and insights to stakeholders in "Show & Tell" sessions, highlighting product readiness and quality.

• Resolve testing challenges efficiently, continuously improving processes.

What you\'ll bring

• Demonstrated leadership in QA team management, work prioritization, and close cooperation with the Project Owner in planning, defining, andallocatingQA activities

• Extensive experience with Java for test automation(e.g. JUnit or TestNG frameworks)

• Expertisein writing integration testsfor REST servicesusingRestAssured

• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact

• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling/Lighthouse/JMeter

• Familiarity with Allure Report for advanced test result visualisation

• Exposure to performance monitoring and observability tools(DataDog)
