Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join the Intelligent Middleware (IMW) team. You will ensure quality, reliability, and performance of core network services, with emphasis on test automation and API contracts.

You will design strategies, automate tests, and collaborate with developers and DevOps to maintain scalable software products while applying best practices in testing and security.

Qualifications

• Experience creating end-to-end test strategies for backend services or APIs (REST/WebSockets).
• Hands-on test automation across backend integrations and performance testing.
• Experience with Windows; Linux is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The Intelligent Middleware (IMW) is a suite of critical network services bridging different types of radio networks via a common API. Our technology allows third-party applications to transparently track and communicate with wireless devices, regardless of access network protocols or device types. We connect the unconnected.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our Intelligent Middleware (IMW) team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our core network services. The ideal candidate will bring solid hands‑on experience in test automation, software testing methodologies, and defect tracking while helping ensure the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high‑quality software products.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing test strategies with a strong focus on backend integration, API contracts, and performance testing.
• Continuously improving and optimizing the product quality verification process.
• Setting up, managing, and maintaining test environments during active product development.
• Automating test environments and test scenarios/suites to streamline delivery.
• Collaborating closely with developers, DevOps, and other engineers to identify issues early and ensure system reliability.
• Leveraging modern AI coding assistants to accelerate test automation, scripting, and documentation.

Basic Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in software engineering or quality assurance

• Practical expertise in test automation using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Experience in preparing and executing end-to-end test strategies for backend services or complex APIs (REST/WebSockets).
• Knowledge of Windows OS (Linux is nice to have).
• Great communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive testing initiatives.
