Job summary

Engenious Kraków is seeking a QA Engineer to join a product team building energy applications, including state estimation for power networks. You will combine manual and automated testing, develop Python test automation, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps.

Work with developers, scientists and Product Management to ensure quality throughout development, validate scenarios with lab equipment, and mentor QA teammates while advancing Power Systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Proven experience in test automation using Python.
• Willingness to develop expertise in Power Systems; prior knowledge is a strong advantage.

Job description

For our client, we are looking for a QA Engineer to join a product team developing advanced energy applications, including algorithms that determine the state of electrical power networks. You will work closely with software developers, scientists, and Product Management to deliver smarter, greener, and more reliable energy solutions.

As part of the development team, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the development lifecycle. You will combine manual and automated testing, develop test automation in Python, integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, and validate real-life scenarios using physical laboratory equipment. You will also have the opportunity to develop your expertise in Power Systems and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices and product reliability.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute comprehensive testing strategies based on business requirements and solution designs
• Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases covering functional and non-functional requirements
• Be part of a development team delivering customer-ready solutions
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Python
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to improve release quality
• Work with physical laboratory equipment to validate real-life scenarios
• Manage test execution and reporting using Zephyr Scale and Azure DevOps
• Collaborate with developers to identify, investigate, and resolve software issues
• Collaborate across teams to continuously improve QA processes and product reliability
• Actively participate in Agile development processes and promote software testing best practices
• Develop domain knowledge in Power Systems to support the full product lifecycle and continuous improvement
• Mentor team members and advocate for quality assurance principles across the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance
• Proven experience in test automation using Python
• Willingness to develop expertise in Power Systems; prior knowledge or experience in this area is a strong advantage
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as OPC, IEC 60870-5-104, MODBUS, and IEEE C37.118 is a strong advantage
