We are seeking a versatile Senior Production Support Engineer to join an established global corporate and investment banking institution. In this role, you will oversee the stability, reliability, and supportability of business-critical financial platforms across international trading and quantitative operations.

This is predominantly an operational, production-focused, and infrastructure-aligned position. You will own production stability, troubleshoot complex issues across systems, and balance day-to-day BAU support with high-impact technical initiatives, including a data center migration and operational support for a greenfield quantitative application.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level production and application support across critical financial systems and environments.
• Lead technical troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root cause analysis (RCA) to implement permanent, maintainable fixes.
• Maintain system availability, monitor production health (using tools like Geneos and ELK), and execute vulnerability remediation and CVE patching.
• Balance operational BAU responsibilities with active involvement in key project deliveries and data center migration efforts.
• Collaborate directly with quantitative teams, front-office stakeholders, infrastructure, and engineering groups to clarify requirements and assess operational impact.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and eliminate single points of failure.
• Actively question incomplete assumptions or specs to ensure solutions are built for long-term production resilience.

Candidate Profile

• Level of Experience: Senior level with extensive experience in Production Support or Application Support within enterprise environments.
• Financial Domain Expertise: Background in banking, capital markets, trading, front-office, or highly regulated financial applications. Direct exposure to traders, quant teams, or desk users is a strong plus.
• Technical Breadth: Solid foundation in Unix/Linux, networking fundamentals, storage, CVE patching, vulnerability remediation, and production monitoring stack (e.g., Geneos, ELK).
• Operational Profile ("Swiss Army Knife"): Broad, versatile technical understanding across application, OS, and network layers rather than a narrow specialization.
• Problem-Solving & Ownership: Proven ability to drive complex production issues to resolution without merely escalating them further.
• Communication & Soft Skills: Outstanding communication skills with the confidence to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders, ask probing questions, and challenge requirements when necessary.
