Job summary

OANDA is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team, responsible for delivering a high-availability global platform across on-premise and cloud environments. In this role, you will design, build and operate hybrid infrastructure, automate with IaC, manage VMware/Linux/Windows, and deploy observability to improve reliability and performance across production systems.

You will collaborate with product teams to accelerate delivery while upholding security and engineering

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering experience.
• Experience with Terraform, GCP, Ansible, Kubernetes and Prometheus.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure hybrid network solutions including load balancers, firewalls, interconnectivity and routing between production environments.
• Build and operate cloud and on-premise environments using Infrastructure as Code.
• Automate system administration of VMware, Linux and Windows servers and virtual hosts.
• Deploy modern distributed observability and monitoring tools to measure service levels and improve performance and availability.
• Respond to and resolve production incidents; contribute to postmortems and translate learnings into improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and deploy innovative products and technologies to improve velocity, reliability and performance.
