Job summary

RHAELM in Poland (Wrocław hub) is seeking a senior backend/infrastructure engineer to design and build the automation layer for a DataCenter-scale platform, focusing on in-house infrastructure resources, provisioning, and retiring resources.

You will write robust Python near the system and hardware level, integrate RESTful APIs, and apply DevOps practices to keep the AI infrastructure scalable, available, and secure. The role offers a hybrid work setup in Wroclaw with a strong engineering team.

Qualifications

• Production-grade Python experience writing scalable code.
• Hands-on Kubernetes cluster management and orchestration.
• Experience with IaC tools Terraform or Ansible.
• CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• IP networking, routing, and load balancing fundamentals.
• Understanding of distributed architectures and failure modes.
• English language proficiency at B2+.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data center level automation and orchestration.
• Manage full lifecycle of infrastructure resources from provisioning to retirement.
• Develop system-level Python code close to hardware layers.
• Create RESTful APIs and integration interfaces for diverse hardware and AI infra components.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Designing and building the automation layer from scratch: Developing a DataCenter-level automation and orchestration platform for infrastructure resources from the ground
• Managing the full resource lifecycle: Implementing end-to-end processes for infrastructure resources, covering everything from initial provisioning to returning retired resources back to the pool
• System and hardware-level Python development: Writing robust, high-performance Python code that operates close to the system and hardware layers
• API integration: Designing and building RESTful APIs and integration interfaces to seamlessly connect with diverse hardware components and IT/AI infrastructure systems
• DevOps and infrastructure orchestration: Applying solid DevOps methodologies to ensure high availability, scalability, and stability of the AI/IT infrastructure management ecosystem
• CI/CD and process automation: Building and maintaining automated testing, deployment, and continuous delivery pipelines for infrastructure management tools and services

YOU ARE A PERFECT MATCH IF YOU HAVE

• CommercialexperienceusingPythonas your primary language to write production-grade code
• kubernetes:Hands-on experience managing and orchestrating containerized environments
• Proficiencywith Infrastructure as Code (IaC): tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• CI/CDPipelines: Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing automated deployment workflows
• Linux Administration: Deep system-level knowledge for diagnosing and troubleshooting complex OS issues
• Practicalunderstandingof IPnetworking, routing, load balancing, and protocols
• Familiarity with distributed architectures, failure modes, and trade-offs
• ProductionMindset: Real-world insight into how systems break differently in production versus localenvironments
• English B2+ proficiency

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with durable execution engines for long-running workflows

• Experience with OpenTofu

• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Ceph, and Redis

• Familiarity with Keycloak / OIDC, OpenBao / Vault, PKI, and mTLS

• Experience with OpenAPI, gRPC, and REST API design

• Ability to read Go, Rust, HCL, and TypeScript (frontend code)

• Observability: Experience instrumenting code with metrics, logs, and tracing
