Job summary

OSCE ODIHR in Warsaw seeks an Officer on the Human Rights of Children to monitor, analyse, and report on children's rights across the OSCE region, advising on priority areas and programmatic responses.

The incumbent coordinates needs assessments, develops capacity-building activities, and engages with government authorities, NHRIs, and civil society to advance ODIHR's mandate and protect children's rights.

Qualifications

  • Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on developments related to children's rights.
  • Advising management on priority areas, programmatic responses, and follow-up actions.
  • Planning and coordinating needs assessments on children's rights in OSCE participating States.
  • Designing and implementing capacity-building initiatives and trainings for government and civil society.
  • Developing publications, including handbooks, guidance notes, and policy papers on children's rights.
  • Preparing project proposals, budgets, and donor reports, and maintaining records in information management systems.
  • Establishing cooperation with government authorities, international organizations, and NGOs for programme delivery.
  • Contributing to cross-cutting activities and inter-departmental projects within ODIHR.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse developments related to the human rights of children across the OSCE region, advising management on priority areas and follow-up actions.

  • Advise, develop, and implement programmatic activities in children's rights with OSCE structures and civil society partners.

  • Develop publications and policy papers on children's rights to guide practice and policy.
  • Prepare project proposals, budgets, donor reports, and maintain accurate records in information systems.
  • Establish and maintain cooperation with government authorities, international organizations, and NGOs, supervising experts and contractors.
  • Support cross-cutting initiatives and provide expert input on inter-departmental projects within ODIHR.
