Job summary

Avanade is seeking a Backend .NET Developer with Copilot Studio experience to design and build secure, scalable backend services on .NET and Azure, and to extend Copilot Studio agents with robust backend capabilities. You’ll work across application, integration and Power Platform responsibilities with Agile teams.

You will design APIs, integrate Copilot Studio agents, and ensure security and reliability while collaborating with stakeholders in a global context.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial software development with C#/.NET.
• Experience building backend apps and APIs using ASP.NET Core.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs with backend systems.
• Experience hosting .NET backends in Azure (Azure Functions, App Service, Key Vault).
• Experience with EF Core and relational databases (SQL Server/Azure SQL).
• Experience securing APIs with Entra ID and OAuth 2.0.
• Knowledge of automated testing, clean code, patterns and modern architecture.
• Experience CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on Copilot Studio and Power Platform experience.
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to work across backend, integration and AI agent duties.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable backend apps and services.
• Build and integrate REST APIs used by Copilot Studio agents.
• Develop agents in Copilot Studio including orchestration, knowledge sources and actions.
• Write agent instructions and ground agents in enterprise knowledge sources.
• Extend agents with custom connectors, REST APIs and MCP servers.
• Integrate backend services with business systems, Dataverse and Graph.
• Secure APIs with Entra ID, OAuth 2.0 and data protection practices.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy agents via Power Platform ALM.
• Test, evaluate and support agents in production; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Participate in workshops and demos; contribute to engineering quality.
• Work across industries and domains with Agile teams.
