Job summary

SPD Technology is seeking a Senior MLOps Engineer to support teams building and deploying AI-driven solutions, tackling ML development, deployment, and lifecycle challenges. The role emphasizes autonomy, proactive problem solving, and scalable systems across projects.

The position involves working on PitchBook-like platforms for investment professionals, delivering data insights and workflow efficiencies to global clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development with Python (Java + Python also considered).
• 4+ years designing and building distributed software systems and architectures.
• 3+ years deploying and operating ML services in production.
• Experience with cloud-native stack and containerization (Kubernetes/Docker).
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data design.
• Ability to decompose complex problems into iterative, well-defined solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cultures and regions.

Responsibilities

• Support teams building and deploying AI-driven solutions across ML lifecycle.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of ML services in production.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.

• Serve asaforce multiplier for development teams bycreating golden paths that remove roadblocks and improve ideation and innovation.
• Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and internal stakeholders inanAgile environment.
• Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and perform code reviews for team members.
• Design and deliver onprojects end-to-end with little tonoguidance.
• Provide support toteams building and deployingAI applications byaddressing common pain points inthe MLDLC.
• Learn constantly and bepassionate about discovering new tools, technologies, libraries, and frameworks (commercial and open source), that can beleveraged toimprove PitchBook’s AIcapabilities.
• Support the vision and values ofthe company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.

We’re looking for you ifyou have

• Degree inComputer Science, Information Systems, Machine Learning, orasimilar field preferred (orequivalent practical experience).
• 5+years ofhands-on software development experience with Python (Java experience with strong Python proficiency also considered).
• 4+years ofexperience designing and building distributed software systems and architectures.
• 3+years ofhands-on experience deploying and operating Machine Learning services inproduction.
• Experience supportingML lifecycle operations including post-deployment monitoring and maintenance.
• Experience incloud-native stack, with apractical understanding ofcontainerization technologies such asKubernetes and Docker.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL and NoSQL database design and implementation.
• Ability todecompose complex problems into iterative, well-defined solutions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with focus onbuilding scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability toengage effectively with internal customers across various cultures and regions.
• Ability tobeateam player who can also work independently.
• Experience working across multiple development teams isaplus.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, orAzure).
• Proficiency inGitOps practices and CI/CD pipeline development and management.
• Observability and monitoring: Integration experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and building instrumented, production-ready systems.
• LLMInfrastructure: Experience provisioning and managing Large Language Models through managed services (Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock).
• LLMTooling: Hands-on experience with LLM gateways (LiteLLM) and agentic frameworks (LangGraph, LangSmith, orsimilar).
• Vector Systems: Practical experience with vector embedding models and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, pgvector).
• RAG Systems: Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems and evaluating both retrieval quality and generation performance.
