Job summary

Clone is seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to own end-to-end mechanical design for robotics hardware in Wroclaw. You will create organic, manufacturable geometry in SolidWorks, integrate electronics, and validate designs with FEA and hands-on testing.

The role emphasizes high-precision surfaces, part tolerance, and quick iteration with a small, expert team. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio—preferably in robotics or motion-driven systems—plus experience with polymers, material

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio of mechanical design work, preferably robotics or motion-driven systems.
• Excellent complex surface modeling in SolidWorks with organic surfaces and high-quality transitions.
• Solid working knowledge of polymers and their mechanical behavior; material selection, stiffness, creep, fatigue, and anisotropy of printed parts.
• Ability to design and integrate electronics into hardware with hands-on electronics experience.
• Experience with motors, gearboxes, actuators, encoders, and integrating sensors into mechanisms.
• Design-for-manufacturing experience—3D printing and machining, with basic understanding of injection molding.
• Topology: GD&T, tolerance analysis, and high-variation part configurations.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical parts end-to-end from internal mechanism to production geometry.
• Design complete mechanical parts from internal mechanism to finished geometry.
• Create complex surface geometry in SolidWorks to a high standard.
• Integrate electronics and standard components into hardware.
• Validate designs with FEA and hand calculations (loads, stresses, friction).
• Design for manufacturing across 3D printing, machining and injection molding.
• Iterate with mechanics and assembly teams.
