Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Cracow to lead advanced FEM simulations for automotive products, including radar, cameras, and ECUs. You will develop models, calibrate material data, and generate reports for stakeholders.

The role requires a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of FEM experience with Abaqus/Ansys, and strong English communication. Onsite collaboration with a team of engineers is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in FEM simulations using Abaqus or Ansys software.
• Experience with implicit and explicit nonlinear simulations, including structural stress and strain, modal, random vibration, shock and impact, and thermal expansion analyses.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as UG-NX, Ansys SpaceClaim, or Ansys Discovery.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset and collaboration skills.
• Onsite work from Cracow.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Cracow. In this role, you will engage in advanced simulations and finite element analysis for automotive products, including radar, cameras, and electronic control units. You will work closely with a team of engineers, applying your expertise in mechanical engineering to evaluate requirements and develop accurate simulation models. Your tasks

• Evaluating internal and external requirements to propose the most appropriate simulation approach
• Preparing and simplifying geometry according to the selected simulation methodology
• Developing, preparing, and calibrating appropriate material models for simulations
• Creating simulation models independently, defining analyses, executing jobs, and monitoring results
• Interpreting simulation results and preparing comprehensive technical reports for stakeholders

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FEM simulations using Abaqus or Ansys software
• Practical experience in performing implicit and explicit nonlinear simulations, including structural stress and strain analysis, modal analysis, random vibration analysis, shock and impact simulations, and thermal expansion analysis
• Basic understanding of CAD tools such as UG-NX, Ansys SpaceClaim, or Ansys Discovery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Team-oriented mindset and collaboration skills
• Working onsite from Cracow

Nice to have

• Experience in the automotive industry, preferably in automotive electronics hardware development
• Previous work with HyperMesh and/or LS-DYNA software
• Practical knowledge of material model calibration for simulation purposes, including elastic-plastic material models for polymers and hyperelastic material models for elastomers
