Job description

*instinctools is a software development company that provides custom software solutions for businesses of all sizes. Our team works closely with clients to understand their specific needs and provide personalized solutions that meet their business requirements.

Our team is looking for a Senior/Lead Implementation Engineer for one of our clients.

Our client is on a mission to defend efficient, equitable insurance for all. It enables insurers to provide affordable coverage addressing modern challenges like climate crisis, cyber‑attacks, and social inflation. Their vision is backed by investors from leading tech firms including Salesforce, Veeva, Zoom, and Box.

This AI‑native platform spans the full policy lifecycle, transforming insurance workflows. Better decisioning is embedded natively: insurers’ portfolio goals, strategies, rules, and appetite integrate directly into workflows, helping underwriters secure optimal deals faster. From submission intake, AI triages high‑potential business, provides real‑time portfolio feedback, and unifies processes into a single system for superior outcomes.

Tasks:

  • Lead planning, scoping, execution, and delivery of complex customer implementations end-to-end.
  • Own customer timelines: estimate delivery schedules, identify risks, anticipate blockers, and proactively adjust plans.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex integration, configuration, and customization issues.
  • Design and implement robust, production‑grade solutions tailored to customer‑specific systems, constraints, and workflows.
  • Translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into clearly scoped technical stories and deliverables.
  • Drive technical discovery sessions with customers and lead solution design discussions.
  • Own portions of customer‑facing engagements, including implementation calls, UAT feedback cycles, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to align on dependencies and changes.
  • Propose and influence architectural decisions based on real‑world deployment experience.
  • Provide structured, data‑driven product feedback to influence roadmap priorities and feature improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by creating and maintaining delivery playbooks, runbooks, onboarding materials, and best practices.
  • Automate internal processes to reduce manual effort and improve delivery efficiency.
Our expectations of the ideal candidate:

insurance domain expertise: solid understanding of insurance concepts, workflows, and industry context

Experience building and debugging production systems and complex integrations.

Solid understanding of system design, APIs, data flows, and integration patterns.

Ability to adapt products through custom configurations, extensions, and workflows.

Experience estimating technical work, managing delivery risks, and handling dependencies.

Familiarity with UAT processes, customer feedback loops, and iterative delivery.

Ability to analyze real‑world deployment issues and translate them into scalable solutions.
Experience working across multiple product domains and technical stacks.

Strong documentation skills (runbooks, playbooks, technical guides).

Understanding of software delivery lifecycle and implementation best practices.

  • English: Upper‑Intermediate or higher
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong customer‑facing presence: ability to build trust, manage expectations, and explain technical trade‑offs.
  • Ownership mindset with high accountability for delivery outcomes.
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership through influence rather than authority.
  • Mentorship and coaching mindset; willingness to support junior team members.
  • Time management and prioritization across multiple concurrent customer engagements.
  • Proactive, structured, and process‑oriented approach to continuous improvement.
We offer:
  • flexible working time (U.S. Pacific Time (PT) overlap for several hours is required)
  • professional and ambitious team
  • learning opportunities, seminars and conferences and time for exploring new technologies
  • full remote work
  • co‑funding for language courses (English)
