Job summary

Softlanding is seeking an experienced Senior Middleware Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms across multiple environments using Amazon EKS, OpenShift, Terraform, and GitOps. The role emphasizes automation, security, and reliability in a modern cloud-native stack.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, IaC, GitOps, and cloud-native tooling.

Qualifications

4-6 years of experience in Kubernetes, Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, cluster operations, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Terraform and automated infrastructure provisioning.
Experience with GitOps using ArgoCD and Helm, including chart development.

Responsibilities

Design, build, automate, secure, and operate Kubernetes platforms across environments.
Develop and maintain Terraform modules for infrastructure provisioning.
Implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and Helm charts.
Configure and optimize node provisioning and autoscaling with Karpenter.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and scripting.
Own platform observability using Datadog and monitors as code.
Maintain platform security controls including Vault, IRSA, and network policies.
Participate in platform modernization and cluster upgrades.
Document technical runbooks and collaborate with teams.
