Job summary

GlobalLogic Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Systems & Virtualization Team, focusing on core hypervisor infrastructure, firmware integration, and low-level Linux kernel work.

In this role you will work at the intersection of firmware and the OS, developing QEMU device models and maintaining SeaBIOS integrations. You will push upstream contributions, optimize kernel memory management and virtual device pipelines, and implement PCI/PCIe device models in QEMU.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in low-level systems and Linux kernel development.
• Strong C programming for low-level systems.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals (memory management/MKU).
• Experience with QEMU device emulation and platform models.
• Experience patching/customizing BIOS/firmware in QEMU (SeaBIOS/EDK2/UEFI/Coreboot/U-Boot).
• Understanding PCI/PCIe specs, ACPI tables, device drivers.
• Experience using eBPF for kernel tracing and performance diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain virtualization components across QEMU, SeaBIOS, and the Linux kernel.
• Develop, debug, and optimize kernel memory management and virtual device pipelines.
• Implement and configure virtual and pass-through PCI/PCIe device models in QEMU.
• Maintain SeaBIOS firmware code, ACPI table generation, interrupt handling, and system bootstrap routines.
• Profile platform latencies and memory footprints using eBPF.
• Deliver upstream-quality patches and root-cause analysis for platform issues.
