Job summary

DXC Luxoft in Poland is seeking an experienced Java developer for front-office electronic trading applications used in derivatives. You will design, develop, and support latency-sensitive systems, collaborating with traders, quants, and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes ownership from design to production, strong Linux and scripting skills, and applying best practices, observability, and AI-assisted tooling to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in electronic trading or front-office environments.
• Strong Java development expertise with experience building high-performance, low-latency applications.
• Experience developing and supporting business-critical trading systems.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong Linux and scripting skills.
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including testing, observability, and production support.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, preferably GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support latency-sensitive trading applications and trading algorithms.
• Drive projects and end-to-end deliveries, taking ownership from design through production deployment.
• Work closely with traders, quants, and business stakeholders to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into innovative technical solutions.
• Build robust, scalable, and highly available Java server-side systems.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure solution quality, security, reliability, performance, and compliance.
• Enhance observability, monitoring, and production support capabilities, proactively identifying and resolving operational risks.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term remediation measures.
• Collaborate within a global Agile team delivering business value in iterative development cycles.
• Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to engineering excellence and knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Drive adoption of modern development practices, including AI-assisted software engineering and automation.
